.
let the world do as it will…
.
what pale light lingers of endless Winter days
.
fades from these eyes averted,
.
far away from this reluctant silhouette’s
.
anonymous imprints in greying sidewalk slush.
.
.
.
let the world do what it has…
.
i measure my walk lightly here in frugal steps
.
and speak less amidst the throng,
.
not belonging where i don’t an eager
.
trade of so many years in such meager wisdom.
.
.
.
so let the world do what it must…
.
that our words and value lie less in volume
.
than in selfless devotion’s daily intent.
.
this grateful heart returns Home
warm with aromas of pine scented candles and
food so lovingly prepared,
.
the eclectic comfort of all we’ve collected
.
of familiar voices and heartbeats
.
and know there is no world i need but ours.

Are these yours? They are adorable, as are your soft words. (Hugs)
yes they are, Gigi the Frenchie and Scout the Puggle are inseparable.
heh, Scout is a popular name in our house! lol!
Beautiful beautiful…I am taking this with me today thank you 🙂
ty Muddletation, that’s such a high compliment from someone who’s

Reblogged this on 20 Lines A Day.
Beautiful companions matched with wonderful words. Have a Great week!
ty so much, and you as well!
How sweet, you can see their affection towards each other! beebeesworld
So loving and beautiful, just like you. Lovely, heartfelt poem…sweet. I have the same name as so many dogs…LOL And they are all so adorable…way cuter than I am.
i thought about you when i was writing this, thinking it might resonate a bit,
ty Sis (now quit makin’ me blush lol) the pups are so representative of Scout and i,
we are content. our friendship has taken us to this place, and i’m grateful for it.
You deserve praise because you are REAL and HONEST and well, BEAUTIFUL.
A sweet tribute to the place and person you call HOME… and the snuggling pups just add to the sweetness. Makes me smile 😀
thanks so much for understanding what the photo represented wunderwench, i began to have doubts
that the poem would be misunderstood because of it. and yes it is a tribute to Home, few things are more meaningful to me.
perfection in words & image~
well i appreciate your kind words Cindy, ty so much.
My heart melted seeing your adorable dogs! And I love your poem. The first part of it made me think of Taoism and its teachings to go with the flow instead of struggling against it. Your poem has a kind of peaceful acceptance, particularly at its conclusion. I know you’ve mentioned this isn’t an easy time of year for you, but I’m glad you can take refuge in the comforts of home.
Miranda, you’ve understood every last thing i’ve tried to convey in this poem, ty for that. there is finally an acceptance,
you are so spot on. i’ve never done well in the world, never did well in groups and yet i always yearned to be accepted.
so the acceptance was finally finding someone who loved me despite my many flaws, and that allowed me to accept my limited
place in the world as a feature, not a flaw.
love the photo.. love animals. used to own siamese cats.. but not anymore. Not here in France.. 😦 –
Such nice thoughts for a cold day!!
No matter what else happens in the outside world, your world is warm and loving. Great picture of the two dogs together. So nice to have friends!
ty Mary, yeah the pups can always be found in a pile with the cats lol,
they certainly know how to snuggle when it’s cold.
So lovely. I’m glad you have such a home to offer solace and warmth and keep the cold and icks at bay. This was so well written, comforting:)
