…hi Dawn and yes, they most certainly do…it’s one of the many reasons i’ve fallen in love with Haiku, each word is essential, every word needs to be chosen carefully…..
What I love about words is that two different people can use the same word, yet express a totally different tone in a poem. Words are are the pictures that poets use to express their hearts and thoughts…how cool is that?!? Beautiful poem!
hi Kirsten, so good to see you. and yes , it’s very cool, as a former painter, i’m finding words express my feelings and color my stories far better than my paint ever could. words were never my vocabulary, i don’t talk very much, i’ve obserevd more than i’v conversed, so ‘words’ for me now, using them like i do in poetry for the first time, is like learning a new language. so yeah, i’m a little in awe!
hello yelena, i love seeing you on my pages, ty. and yes, the ‘music of spheres’ is everwhere in this poem, your hearing is perfect!
there is something very ‘ancient’ about writing Haiku, i’m writing another poem about it. it puts me in a very special place, a place of recall, a place joining the natural rythms of things, it’s very mysterious and magical. i’m sure this isn’t making much sense, i haven’t found all the words yet…
Smooooooooth read! Tricky little buggers those things. Sometimes they roll off the tongue and other times just get stuck between what is thought and what is written. You handle yours quite well indeed!
well, i really appreciate you saying that, because this is also a very tricky thing to write about. one wrong word and there is misunderstanding everywhere, but this was happenening too often to not at least try and explain it, and just trust that you all would understand.
if Mr M says i did well, that’s enough for me to sleep well tonight, ty.
..it’ s probably not coincidental you say that, because the more i immerse myself in this form, the more profound it becomes to me…the 5,7,5 rythm, the syllable count, how the entire poem flows so effortlessly if you choose the words correctly..it’s become intuitive now, i see the rythms everywhere, the connections are endless…
Just Lovely!!
..good morning Morgan and ty, i’m so glad you enjoyed it.
Im not typically fond of a Haiku, but this is lovely 🙂
hi Morgan, and thank you.
i wasn’t either for a long time, but i’m smitten with the form now.
Words have limitless potential 😉

this speaks to me
i can’t explain how
“it’s a good thing”
(why i’m quoting martha stewart ,that’s not a good thing).
…oh Haiku companion, no worries..you’re among friends,’cause i happen to like that quote of hers….
oh i’m a haiku companion; how sweet.
..well, sure. .seems evertime we talk, a Haiku or too is born…and your incredible
‘stacked Haiku’ inspired mine, so,.. aptly titled i think.
yes.lol.. “a haiku or too is born:..that should be the title of a movie.
…hope it’s better than A Star is Born..LOL!
lol. oh that’s what i was thinking of…i was busy reading, so your last comment would be true…if you don’t understand , don’t worry.

ty ladyblue, i thought you would understand,
it’s a little dicey talking about ‘words writing themselves’,
an awful lot can be misunderstood.
thank you so much for your wisdom and keen insight.
Reblogged this on Teacher as Transformer and commented:
Words, poetry, and the universe are all part of an unfolding.
…oh my gosh, i just saw this, sorry. ..and you humble me again, an honor to share your pages my friend..thank you so much
You are welcome. I love haiku. I think they are the most powerful form of poetry. Each word has to mean more than it literally does.

We live our life in poetry which reveals the world.
